Indicators make your diagram colors meaningful by mapping colors to real-time data. Any field in ServiceNow can be defined as an Indicator and used to color the background, edge or corner of any shape.
Please note, that background and edge colors are not supported for shapes including images only.
Based on the selected Indicators legends are added automatically to the bottom left of your diagram.
A – Corner Indicator
B – Background Indicator
C – Edge Indicator
D – Indicator Legend
To add indicators to your existing diagram, follow these steps:
A – Click the INSERT tab in the application menu within the Designer to see the different options.
B – Click Indicators to open the indicators form.
C – The Indicators form will be shown.
D – Click the + button to add a new row.
E – Select a table. Please note, that only tables with defined Indicators will be visible here.
F – Select a background indicator here. Please note, that only defined indicators for the selected table are visible.
G – Select an edge indicator here. Please note, that only defined indicators for the selected table are visible.
H – Select a corner indicator here. Please note, that only defined indicators for the selected table are visible.
I – Click the X button to remove a line.
J – Click the OK button to accept the settings. Designer will add automatically a legend to the bottom left of your diagram.
In case you have removed your Indicator legends from the form, just open the Indicators form and click OK to add the legends again.
Our recommendation is to add the indicators as the last step in your modeling process to avoid layout changes through auto layout. In case you need to load additional data, just switch off the auto layout option in the Extras menu, to move the indicators to another layer.
